Machon Maayan 2016-2017

Why did you choose to attend Machon Maayan?

I chose MM because I wanted to go somewhere that didn’t feel “cookie cutter” to me. I loved the fact that there were girls from all around the world coming from all different types of backgrounds. Since everyone came from various backgrounds, what each girl wanted to learn more about and grow in was different. The school was filled with people who just really cared, and it was inspiring to see the girls cheer each other on. It taught me to appreciate Judaism in a different light.

Where are you now?

I am now studying in Hofstra University and am double majoring in Education and History.

What was your favorite seminar/tiyul?

My favorite tiyul was the Gush Etzion seminar–it was inspiring and epitomizes the unbreakable spirit of Jews and Israel. It made me cry!

Where is the coolest place that you went to for Shabbat?

The coolest place that I went to for Shabbat was Kibbutz Tirat Tzvi–it was a real Israeli experience to be there.
